Off to the Great White North -- 3SKI09

I am writing this post on the eve of my annual ski trip to Whistler BC. Each year I venture north with two close buddies of mine, Nick & Rex, for a three day powder fest on two awesome mountains. They have a great slogan there at Whistler..."All You Ever Wanted In A Mountain & Then Another Mountain" Classic!

I look forward to this vacation all year. We have done our 3ski trip now for seven straight years and each year is a bit different, but very much the same. Each of us is completely geared up, totally psyched and excited to begin the 3ski adventure. During 3ski we tell many of the same stories and jokes that cracked us up back when we first started our friendships in the early 90's as sales reps for a Gannett owned newspaper in So Cal. Back then we were young twenty somethings without a care in the world. No kids no wives no mortgages. Quite the free spirits we were. We played and worked hard - enjoying life to its fullest!

Now close to twenty years later we still are having fun being best friends. Our friendship has tested time and made our bonds stronger over the years. Now we are all dads to a combined total of seven kids (6 girls & 1 boy), have super wives, our own homes, new careers and live in three separate states (OR, WA & NE).

We have all grown up but us boys are very much the same during 3ski. I anticipate we will ski hard and often, drink way too much beer, eat well, sleep little, swap stories-old and new, listen to old school favorites on the ipod, tell joke after joke and laugh until our sides ache from the moment we are together. I can't wait till it starts!
